Gallery Nine in Port Townsend features Tom Stewart, drum maker; and Steve Mullensky, photographer, in October. Their theme is "Rhythms", on Tom's beautiful drums, and the rhythms of life in Steve's insightful photography.

Tom will display his artistic hand drums. He will show works in progress, which demonstrate a unique and fascinating method for laminating wood into his graceful drums.Tom’s drums are wrench tunable using his own hardware design which he also forms in his shop.
One hundred and forty drums have been sold and are in homes all over the country. He is presently working on his one hundred and fiftith drum. Each one is different in finished design.

It gives him great pleasure knowing that his drums will be handed down through the generations and that many who own them will discover the hidden rhythms that reside in all of us.
There are endless designs and endless rhythms to discover. What else could an artistic craftsman and drummer desire?
Steve has been a professional photographer for over 35 years, specializing in photojournalism and sports. His camera has taken him around the world. Currently he freelances for 3 local newspapers and images taken during some of those assignments end up as art images on display in Gallery 9.
